No, there’s a NOT a new Nirvana movie coming. This trailer is a just mock-up of what a biopic might look like.
Kurt Cobain would have turned 53 on February 20. On that day, a trailer for a new movie–not a doc but a dramatization–about his life appeared online.
Damn, it looks real. But if you read the notes, you’ll see that it was posted not by a studio but by TeaserPRO, a group who creates what they call “trailer mashups,” renderings of theoretical movies.
In this case, they gathered all sorts of film footage from a bunch of different sources, editing them together to create a new trailer that looks really, really authentic. It’s the cinematic equivalent of building a song out of samples.
Clever, this. But don’t be fooled. This movie doesn’t exist. At least not yet.
It’s a shame if it doesn’t exist. With all the biopics coming out, it should. And there is nobody better to play that role.
I don’t think there should ever be a movie made, I’m a big fan of Kurt Cobain, I don’t feel he killed him self. I think that the movie wouldn’t be based on the truth. It would only be for someone else’s gain (money and pity)
