OK Go Records “Sound” of the Northern Lights

Growing up on the prairies, I’ve heard the aurora borealis.  I swear they make noise, a ghostly, tinkly sound. Now Damian Kulash of OK Go and some collaborator friends traveled to northern Sweden to capture these sounds for a special project for Sony.  From Wired:

The band’s lead singer Damian Kulash and digital strategist Mike Rosenthal travelled with former OK Go bassist Tim Nordwind and singer Drea Smith (who perform together as Pyyramids) and photographer Martien Mulder to the village of Jukkasjärvi in Northern Sweden in March. They were there to create an audiovisual representation of the Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, for use in a Sony advertising campaign.
