One of the Best Novels About the Music Industry to Become a Movie

If you’ve never read John Niven’s Kill Your Friends, get a copy.  Now.  It’s easily one of the best novels ever set in the music industry.

Without giving too much away, the story goes something like this.  A British A&R man, caught up in the heady days of Britpop (read: much consumption of alcohol and drugs), accidentally kills someone. Surprisingly, that turns out to be a very good career move.

Now the book will be made into a movie starring Rafe Spall (he was in that abortion that was Prometheus) and directed by Owen Harris.  Please let this be as good as the book.
