Ongoing History Daily: An STP lesson to the crowd
When Scott Weiland was still fronting Stone Temple Pilots, he had no trouble getting into a fight with someone in the crowd. In the summer of 1993, STP was playing Boston when a few members of the audience started throwing things at Weiland.
Never do this.
After a few minutes of this, Scott began screaming at one particular guy and challenged him to come up on stage. Then the crowd in the pit (who were suitably annoyed at this bonehead) picked him up and body-surfed him to the front of the stage whereupon Scott and guitarist Robert DeLeo jumped into the pit and allegedly beat him silly.
Charges were laid and Scott and Robert had had to pay for this guy’s medical expenses.
Yesterday’s OHD was about getting hammered.
