Things you may not have known about Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day.

He was playing the piano by age five. In fact, he may have even started earlier than that, but details are sketchy. The kid was something of a musical prodigy, apparently.
Before he was ten, he was singing for the residents of old age homes around the Bay Area.
At one point, Billie Joe sported a pretty cool set of dreadlocks.
Billie Joe and Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt have known each other since they were kids. The first job they had together was working as bus boys at a restaurant called Rod’s Hickory Pit. That’s where Billie Joe’s mom worked as a waitress.
