Ongoing History Daily: Bob Moses clarifications

Even though they’ve had more than a couple of hits, a lot of people don’t realize a couple of things about Bob Moses.

  • First of all, Bob Moses is Canadian and based out of Vancouver.
  • Second, this is a duo, not a person. There’s Tom Howie and Jim Vallance.
  • Jim is the son of another Jim, best known as Bryan Adams’ writing partner. Mom is Rachel Paiement, a member of the Franco-Ontario band CANO who had hits back in the 70s and 80s.
  • Okay, so why the name “Bob Moses?” Jim and Tom, who went to elementary school together, reunited when both of them were living in New York City. Both became away of the real Bob Moses, who was an infamous public planner in favour of knocking down neighbourhoods and putting up freeways all over New York. Hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yesterday’s Ongoing History Daily post was something similar on The Interrupters.
