Ongoing History Daily: Brandon loves Frank

Growing Up in Vegas, Killers singer Brandon Richard Flowers had a chance to soak up the, er, ambience of the city. He had escaped from living in rural Utah with his mom and dad and went to high school in Vegas while living with his aunt. Brandon worked as a bellhop at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino as well as a caddie at one of the local golf clubs.

He also developed an appreciation for Las Vegas’ musical legacies, especially for Frank Sinatra. In fact, if you ask Brandon about his all-time favourite live album, he’ll tell you that it’s a 1974 release called The Main Event. He says he wore out his first copy by the time he was 16.

Not necessarily what you’d expect from a nice Mormon boy, is it?
