(1) His birth name was Christopher John Boyle. When his parents divorced, he went to live with his psychic mom and adopted her maiden name.

(2) Before he got deep into music, he worked with raw fish at a seafood wholesaler before becoming a sous chef at a seafood restaurant.

(3) After Soundgarden got rolling, Chris played in a weird western swing band called Centre for Disease Control Boys.

(4) He was the first American singer to write and perform a James Bond theme. That was for Casino Royale in 2006.

And (5) Chris was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident when he was rear-ended by a truck while out for a ride in LA. He flew 20 feet through the air but was able to walk away with only minor injuries.
