Ongoing History Daily: Crazy Norwegian Black Metal Kids

Black metal is the Satanic and anti-Christian offshoot of speed metal.  Members of these bands often find themselves in trouble with the law.  Take the case of Illvastar, the bass player for a Norwegian group called Svartahrid.

Illvastar broke into a church mortuary near the town of Skien.  He was looking for something valuable to steal but was distracted by a corpse awaiting burial.  Illvastar cut off the head of the corpse, stuffed it into a plastic bag and took it with him to a party.  He was caught and sentenced to one year in jail.

In his defense, Illvastar said he was pretty drunk and stoned at the time.
