Ongoing History Daily: Dave Grohl facts

Here are a few things about Dave Grohl that somehow may have escaped your attention until now.

(1) It’s no surprise that he hates drum machines. He says they work for pop artists but for rock, he says, “Don’t mess around with the human element.”

(2) When 50,000 people started losing their mind at a Foo Fighter show in New Zealand, a volcanic monitoring station called GeoNet reported that the ground shook three times a second. That’s about the same as you’d expect from some kind of volcanic activity.

And (3) the backstage riders laid out by the Foo Fighters are legendary. One stated that the preferred meat for the Foo Fighters is “big-ass kielbasas that make men self-conscious.” It also described bacon as “god’s currency.”
