Ongoing History Daily: Dave Grohl has now written WAY more hits that Kurt Cobain

While Nirvana will forever remain legendary, it’s important to give Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters the credit they deserve.  In terms of hit songs, Dave has written many more than Kurt ever did.  The Foos have put out three times as many albums, too. The Foos have sold out Wembley Stadium multiple times and played all kinds of sold-out tours.

All this is from  guy who had just one single song on any Nirvana release.  It was a song called “Marigold,” which originally was buried at the end of the CD single for “Heart-Shaped Box.”  If you’re a super-fan, here’s an assignment: Track down a cassette-only release from a band called Late!, which was released in 1992.  That’s a Dave Grohl solo album.  Almost no one heard it when it came out.

Those who did had no idea that the guy behind it would end up selling tens of millions of records.
