Ongoing History Daily: Hovercraft, Eddie Vedder’s other band

Sure, Eddie has Pearl Jam and his solo work.  But how many people remember Hovercraft?  And no, this wasn’t some long-lost pre-Pearl Jam band.  Eddie played drums in Hovercraft and his ex-wife Beth Liebling played bass.

Hovercraft was about as anti-grunge as you could get, too.  They were rather experimental and preferred long, moody, distorted jams.  In 1995, the band went on tour with Eddie acting as the band’s drummer.  He tried to remain anonymous as the group went through various small clubs across North America, but you can imagine how well that worked out.

Eddie and Beth are no longer together, so the chances of him joining Hovercraft again are zero.
