Ongoing History Daily: Enema of the State artwork

Here’s a quick Blink 182 story and it has to do with the artwork for their Enema of the State album. The guys had a concept in mind for the cover which called for an attractive woman. They were then presented with a series of photos of models and they chose one. They had no idea who the woman was–all they knew was that she looked the part.

It turns out her name was Janine, a hardcore porn star. Blink 182 didn’t know a thing about her until she showed up for the cover shoot and for the video “What’s My Age Again?” By the way, at the time of the album’s release, Janine had an eight-year-old son who just LOVED Blink 182. He thought it was so cool that his mom was in a video. A MUSIC video.

I wonder how long it took before he knew about all the other stuff?
