(1) Billie Joe Armstrong’s father died of cancer when Billie Joe was just ten. But before he died, he gave Billie his first guitar. He named it “Blue” and has had many replicas made since.

(2) Billie Joe once had a cat named Zero. He unfortunately died in a bizarre accident involving a dryer. (3) All three members of the band have a tattoo that reads “EBPM.” That stands for “East Bay Punk Mafia.”

And (4) When Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg got married, he hired Billie Joe to play at the wedding reception.
