Ongoing History Daily: In Utero fact

If you have a copy of Nirvana’s In Utero CD, you might have wondered about the picture of the dude wearing the bra on the CD itself.  What’s up with that?

That’s Michael DeWitt, the guy who everyone called “Cali.”  He was the nanny hired by Kurt and Courtney to look after Frances Bean in the days leading up to Kurt’s suicide.  Cali used to be a roadie for Hole, but because he apparently bonded well with Courtney’s kid, he was deemed fit to be her nanny.  In case you didn’t know, Cali was in charge of the main house while Kurt was out in the garden with his shotgun.  He was one of the last known people to actually speak to Kurt.

In fact, if you know anything about the various Kurt-was-murdered conspiracies, you’ll recognize his name from some of the investigations.
