Ongoing History Daily: Kings of Leon facts

Let’s get into some trivia about Kings of Leon, shall we?

(1) All their albums have five-syllable titles. That was a complete coincidence for the first three albums but once they discovered that, they’ve superstitiously kept the streak going.

(2) Before every concert, the band huddles to sing a gospel song called “Just a Little Talk with Jesus.” This relates back to when the Followill brothers were dragged from town to town by their traveling Pentecostal preacher father.

(3) Caleb Followill used to be known as “Rooster” after the John Wayne character in the movie True Grit. That’s because it always got into drunken fights.

And (4) There was a “Leon.” He was the grandfather of the three brothers and the great-uncle of the cousin.
