Ongoing History Daily: More weird Weezer facts

Rivers Cuomo of Weezer is one of the most interesting dudes in all of music.

  • For the last couple of years, he’s livestreamed himself playing Beethoven’s sonatas in order. Each performance runs up to 75 minutes and he says he finds this very satisfying.
  • Someone once told him that he’d have a better sleep if he duct-taped his mouth shut at night and says he sleeps much deeper.
  • Rivers has been deep into computer coding for the last few years. He’s become quite good at creating special programs for his musical needs.
  • Rivers and his daughter are into falconry, as it hunting with a falcon.
  • He’s big into vipassana meditation. Two hours a day for the last 20 years.
  • He’s also spent the last few years learning important and useful phrases in more than 100 foreign languages.
