Ongoing History Daily: Need study buddy music?

If you’re doing homework or cramming for some test or exam, will music help? A survey consulted more than 1,000 US parents with school-aged children, asking them how often their kids study with music and, if so, what music they listen to.

The top study buddy artist was Taylor Swift, followed by Morgan Wallen and Drake. Pop was the most common centre at 51%, followed by rock at 27% and then hip-hop at 26%. Most parents report good results, with 40% of them saying listening to music while studying helps them perform better academically.

In fact, 48% of parents of high-performing students say music helps their kids. And 50% say that the top benefit is reduced stress or anxiety.
