Ongoing History Daily: Offspring facts

Some random stuff about the Offspring:

(1) The original title of the Americana album was You’re Too Fat To Do Porn.  Really.

(2) The “Give it to me baby” parts in “Pretty Fly For a White Guy” were done by a couple of professional voiceover women from Los Angeles.  The band really wanted actress Rosie Perez, but she was busy.

(3) The geek from the “Pretty Fly” video is an 18-year-old wannabe actor named Guy Cohen. He beat out Seth Green from Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the part.  That video has made him famous enough be to chased down the street by fans in New York.

And (4)  The Offspring run an indie label called Nitro Records–and along with signing various types of bands, the label also sponsors a Little League baseball team.

Tuesday’s post was about the cover art for the Clash’s London Calling album.
