Ongoing History Daily: Pearl Jam’s song about JFK’s missing brain

There are still so many questions about the assassination of John F. Kennedy in November 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman? I don’t buy it. Neither does Pearl Jam, especially after Eddie Vedder discovered something very odd.

In 1966, it was revealed that Kennedy’s brain, which had been removed and preserved after his autopsy, had gone missing from the National Archives. How do you lose the actual brain of the person killed in the biggest murder mystery in American history? And what would a proper examination of that brain reveal about how Kennedy was killed that day in Dallas?

In 1998, Eddie wrote a song for Pearl Jam’s Yield album called “Brain of J.” The first line of the song is “Who’s got the brain of JFK?” We don’t know, Eddie. We just don’t know.
