Ongoing History Daily: Radiohead’s hidden Kid A surprise

So you’re a Radiohead fan and you’ve listened to their 2000 CD, Kid A, a million times and you know every word and every note..  But do you really know everything about the album?  For example, have you every taken the black opaque tray out of the CD jewel box?

You should–because there’s a second booklet hidden behind it.

It’s a bit weird with pictures and what seems to be random bits of text from…somewhere.  But those scraps of poetry weren’t random at all.  They were slices of lyrics from Radiohead’s next two albums, Amnesiac in 2001 and Hail to the Thief in 2003.  The band gave fans some of the words to their next couple of CDs up to three years before those CDs came out.

Try doing that with an MP3.
