Ongoing History Daily: Rivers Cuomo is an interesting dude

Everyone knows Rivers Cuomo as the guy in charge of Weezer.  He is, however, more than that.  In fact, the deeper you dig, the more interesting he gets.  Here are some examples:

(1) Together with a friend named Scotty Morrison from the band, Allister, he recorded an entire album of new material sung entirely in Japanese.

(2) He doesn’t like to be distracted before he goes onstage, so he allegedly often wears big hearing protector headphones so he can get his game face on.

(3) He once appeared on the kids’ show Yo Gabba Gabba!  Okay, so other musicians have appeared on the program, but Rivers looked like he was having way too much fun.

And (4) he’s a massive soccer fan and once recorded an unofficial theme for the US World Cup team.
