Ongoing History Daily: Royal Blood facts

There have always only been two guys in Royal Blood: Singer and bass guitarist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher. Well, sort of.

They’ve known each other since high school when they were in another band called Flavour Country, which featured four members with Kerr playing keyboards and the keytar player. When they broke up, Kerr ended up in Australia with another drummer named Matt Swan where they recorded an EP under the name Royal Blood and toured mostly along the east coast.

When Kerr returned to England, Ben was the guy to pick him up from the airport. Before they even got home, they decided to resurrect Royal Blood with the two of them. And that’s the way it’s been ever since.
