Ongoing History Daily: Scott Weiland’s actual cause of death

After Scott Weiland died on a tour bus in December 2015, the toxicology report stated that he had a tremendous number of drugs in his system. The conclusion by the coroner was that he died of an overdose. That may not be the case.

Scott’s widow, Jamie, would like the set the record straight about his true cause of death. Drugs played a part—the man had been a heroin addict for a decade—but there were other factors, like a lifetime of chain smoking and heavy drinking. But Jamie says Scott actually died because 95% of the main artery in the left ventricle of his heart was blocked.

The strain became too great and Scott’s heart just stopped. So no overdose but a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest.
