Ongoing History Daily: Serj Tankian, software CEO

Before he joined up with System of a Down and became the frontman for a beloved heavy metal group, Serj Tankian had other career aspirations. He’d graduated from California State University with a degree in marketing, something that led him through a series of jobs.

Tired of working for someone else, he set up his own company called Propriety Vertical Industry Modular Accounting Software. As CEO, he directed a team that developed bespoke accounting software aimed directly at the jewelry industry. T

his was fine, but Serj couldn’t shake his dream of playing music and on the side, he appeared in a band called Soil. When they split up, Serj and a couple of other guys were reconstituted as System of a Down.

I wonder what happened to that software company?
