Ongoing History Daily: Stabbing Noodles

The Offspring came up through the rough punk scene of Southern California. How rough was it? Guitarist Noodles once got stabbed at a gig.

In the early 90s, the band was opening for a group called Final Conflict when some skinheads showed up at the door looking for trouble. They tried to break in even after a table was put up as a barricade at the door. Noodles thought he’d be a diplomat and try to calm everything down. When he approached the table that was blocking the door, a skinhead leaped at him and punched him in the arm.

But it wasn’t any ordinary punch. This creep had a knife between his knuckles. The wound wasn’t serious, but Noodles has since thought twice about getting involved in a fight.
