Ongoing History Daily: The Foo Fighters’ “Million Dollar Demos”
Back in 2001, the Foo Fighters started work on what they hoped would be their fourth album. Unfortunately, none of the sessions went very well.
All the songs were scrapped and the band went out on tour to buy some time what to do next. These abandoned tracks have gone down in Foos history as the “Million Dollar Demos” after their alleged cost. After returning from that tour, the Foos recorded the One by One album–and things turned out just fine.
There are eleven songs in the collection of which only three–“Tired of You,” “Walking a Line” and “Normal”–were ever released. Two songs were leaked (“Have It All” and “Come Back”) while the last five were only available as 30-second clips.
Curious? Time for some Internet search. The truth is out there.
