Ongoing History Daily: The Sid Vicious assassination conspiracy

Think the mob killed JFK? A supporter of QAnon? The COVID vaccine filled with Bill Gates-designed nanobots? Try this one on for size.

There are those who believe that Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols was assassinated by the CIA. No kidding.

The theory goes like this: The CIA was concerned about the anarchist nature of punk and wanted to discredit the whole movement by attacking one of punk’s icons. First, they set Sid up in the death of his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. Then they made sure that he overdosed with an extra-strong dose of heroin that an undercover agent sold to Sid’s mom—who, being a good mother, passed the smack along to Sid.

Honest! There are people who swear it’s all true.

Meanwhile, you can look up yesterday’s post about Eddie Vedder the accidental fashion icon.
