Ongoing History Daily: Time for a satanic panic?

Every once in a while, some kind of hysteria links rock to the devil. And in some cases, there was a grain of truth to what these panicky people were on about.

Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin was once deep into the occult, purchasing manuscripts by Satanist Aleister Crowley, supposedly the most evil man to ever live. He even bought one of Crowley’s old houses in Scotland.

In his crazy cocaine days in the 70s, David Bowie lived in fear of a cabal of witches he was sure was stalking him, looking to steal his vital bodily essence.

Matt Skikba of Alkaline Trio and once a member of Blink-18, claims to practice black magic. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth was into the same thing for a long time.

And we have to mention Marilyn Manson who has an honorary priesthood with the Church of Satan.
