Ongoing History Daily: Whither Elastica?

Back in the heady days of Britpop in the middle 90s, Justine Frischmann of Elastica was one-half of the scene’s first couple. She and Damon Albarn of Blur were on the top of the pile. Where is she now?

After she broke up with Damon, released a useless second Elastica and sorted out some serious drug issues, she ended up writing songs with her friend, Maya Arulpragasm, who went on to be known as MIA.  By 2005, she decided to go back to school–but in the US.

These days, she lives in the Bay area of California with her husband, who was a professor of atmospheric science.  She’s also working as an abstract painter.

And before you ask, there are no plans to ever resurrect Elastica.
