Online Video Series on Vinyl Comes to VOD Today (April 18)

Vinyl Revolution is an online video series that explores the resurrection of vinyl in both the music industry and in the minds of fans. The first episode, Vinyl Revolution: Toronto will be available as of today (April 18) as the word gets ready for Record Store Day.

This first episode will look at the vinyl scene in Toronto, touring through local stores like Sonic Boom and Kops Records along with a trip out to Belleville to visit the only remaining Sam the Record Man.

Aaron Bell, the co-creator of the series says “Records have made a tremendous comeback in the past decade and it is having a positive effect on the most important people in the industry – the musicians.  We are determined to tell the story of the comeback of vinyl and Toronto was the perfect place to start our journey.” Angela Bell, the other co-creator says this: “Listening to records is such a different experience than listening to digital music. This first episode really looks at the experience of shopping for records and then taking them home and experiencing the music the way it was originally intended.”

The series features appearances byTom Cochrane, Ewan Currie of The Sheepdogs, Colin James, Graham Henderson (president of Music Canada), Gerry McGhee (who runs a pressing plan called Precision Pressing) and, er, me.
