Combining data from over thirteen different social media platforms, the Vista Music Prize aggregates both fan and play counts in order to rank emerging Canadian artists in terms of their online popularity. Music fans are then encouraged to vote for their favourite artists on Facebook, and a panel of judges evaluates submitted music. The scores from each category are totaled to determine the first and second place winners. The current leaderboard standings, as well as a more detailed description of the prize can be found here.
