Photos of Soundgarden’s First Show in Toronto

Viliam at Photosynthesis Studio of Toronto has spent decades shooting acts that have come through Toronto. He was there when Soundgarden played their first Toronto show back in 1989 at the long-gone Apocalypse Club. These photos (among many, many others) appear in his Anti-Star book and documentary.

  • I saw Soundgarden with Voivod and Faith No More @ Porter Hall in Ottawa January 11 1990. Would assume the Toronto show was around that time.

  • I was at this show and remember Chris Cornell walking on tables and his voice blowing the roof off the Apocalypse Club! My first grunge show and I was lucky enough to see Soundgarden! Totally cool to have seen them before they were ever signed to a major label.
