The sales battle between CDs and vinyl is over in Canada. For the foreseeable future, vinyl will rule. Here are the latest sales and streaming figures for Canada (via Luminate).

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 28,974 (within a few hundred of last week’s total)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 31,794 (within a few hundred of last week’s total)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 692,108 (down 9.8% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 791,564 (up 14.4% from a year ago)

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,961,027,134 (down 0.4% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 68,504,249,663 (up 5.2% from this time in 2024)
