Cool!

Pre-Show/Post-Show Music

It is always interesting to hear the types of piped in music played at a venue before the band comes out. Sometimes. Sometimes the venue is in charge and they play inappropriate drivel (think disco before a metal show). Anyone have any good examples of this?

Some bands do it for themselves. U2 is one of those bands. And for this tour, their retro list is pretty interesting (Thanks to u2wanderer.org for the list):

Land – Patti Smith
New Feeling – Talking Heads
Tentative Decisions – Talking Heads
Happy Day – Talking Heads
Who Is It? – Talking Heads
No Compassion – Talking Heads
The Book I Read – Talking Heads
Don’t Worry About the Government – Talking Heads
Town Called Malice – The Jam
Celebrate – Simple Minds
Because the Night – Patti Smith
Cars – Gary Numan
I Ran – A Flock of Seagulls
Peaches – The Stranglers
Atomic – Blondie
Lust for Life – Iggy Pop
Love Will Tear Us Apart – Joy Division
should I Stay or Should I Go – The Clash
Ca Plane Pour Moi – Plastic Bertrand
Airport – The Motor
Johnny Was – Stiff Little Fingers
Baby I Love You – The Ramones
Beat on the Brat – The Ramones (remix containing Discotheque and Even Better Than the Real Thing instrumentals)
(Show starts here!)
