A Prog-Rock Album Based on Scrooge McDuck? Yep.

It’s not often we see the confluence of Finnish prog-metal and fictional billionaire waterfowl, but now that it’s here, we might as well get into it.

Tuomas Holopainen plays keyboards for Nightwish.  Come April 15, he’ll release his first solo album entitled Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge.  As in McDuck.  The basis of the album is a graphic novel that tells McDuck’s story.

Holpaninen admits that “this is not a so-called commercial album.”  You don’t say…
