Radiohead: Album in June?
After months of speculation, it’s starting to look like Radiohead will release their ninth album sometime in the next ten weeks. Brian Message, the band’s manager (yes, that’s really his name), was at an event at a pub in London and hinted strongly at a June release. “It’s nothing like you’ve ever heard,” he said. So and Kid A-style departure? Or something more radical?
We also know that a music video was shot at a private home in LA earlier this month with director Paul Thomas Anderson at the help. And now there’s a picture on Radiohead’s Facebook page that could be interpreted as the artwork for the new record.
Of course, Radiohead is lucky in that they’re complete free agents. With no label obligations, they can do whatever they want whenever they want to do it. And with a tour starting on May 20, it would make sense to have a new album record to go.
