Random Music New for Thursday, May 6, 2016

A busy day for me at Canadian Music Week. I’m sure this will generate plenty of music news.

  1. Samsung is working on an app that will allow parents to send lullabies to their premature babies.
  2. Did this band kill a baby seal and then throw it around backstage? Does Morrissey know about this?
  3. Leaked information says that the iPhone 7 will have a headphone jack after all. (There were rumours that we’d have to connect ‘phones through the Lightning port.)
  4. Looking to build a home recording studio? Start here.
  5. Scott Stapp (ex-Creed) will replace Scott Weiland–but not in Stone Temple Pilots. See?
  6. This guitar is made from solid silk. Wait–silk?
  7. Drake’s Views is set to obliterate the week-one streaming record in the US. In five days, tracks from the album were streamed 191,400,000 times. Take that, Bieber and Beyonce.
