  1. YouTube and TikTok are taking a big chunk of viewing time away from streaming TV and movies.
  2. And YouTube is a MONSTER in India.
  3. Even though the pandemic is behind us (well, mostly), in-home concerts are still very much a thing.
  4. Iron Maiden toured behind the Iron Curtain in 1984. It was…different.
  5. The World Socialist website isn’t a fan of Charlie XCX’s “Brat.”
  6. Katy Perry is in trouble again, this time in Spain.
  7. Also in Spain, a techno festival has developed a test for spiked drinks.
  8. Another Prince guitar is going up for auction. This one is yellow.
  9. The MTV Video Music Awards were scheduled for September 11, the same day as the Trump-Harris debate. They’ve wisely moved things to September 10.

  11. Noel Gallagher helped design the new kit (translation: game uniform) for his beloved Manchester City. Fans are split on the result.
  12. George Michael is apparently communicating from beyond the grave.
  13. People are still buying radios by the millions.
  14. Damon Albarn’s father has died at the age of 85.
  15. The father of Scott Ian (Anthrax) has died at the age of 83.

  • Thank you for the “mostly” on the pandemic comment. For many of us with pre-exiting health issues, it’s not behind us. Concerts are still largely a “no go” for that population, at least large scale ones. So the in-house one at least offers some possibilities to hear live music still!
