It’s American Thanksgiving so music news is a little hard to come by. But I have found a few things for November 25, 2021.

  1. TikTok (and social media in general) is going to have an increasing effect on music. Here’s how.
  2. Netflix and Spotify have come together. See?
  3. Instagram is now testing 60-second stories.
  4. Music is getting tribal again. This may or may not be a good thing.
  5. The BBC reaches 489 million adults worldwide every week. Wow.
  6. What is “Sound?” This looks interesting.
  7. I saw a preview of the Beatles Get Back documentary directed by Peter Jackon. It looks outstanding. Now I have to subscribe to Disney+ to see it.
  8. Speaking of The Beatles, here’s some new swag just in time for Christmas.
  9. Or how about a book on the wives of The Beatles.
  10. Did you notice that Marilyn Manson got a Grammy nomination this week? I missed that, too.
  11. Here’s the first tangible change in festivals since the Astroworld disaster.
  12. There’s now a Judas Priest graphic novel.
  13. Remember how people had fun re-imagining the Game of Thrones theme? They’re now doing it with the theme for Succession.
  14. This is interesting: How Millennials and Gen Z are listening to music.
  15. A software company is suing a metal band over the use of the word “doom” in their name.
