I know a lot of fellow radio people use this site for showprep. To all of you working the holidays, I feel your pain. I had to do it for decades so I realize how challenging it can be. Maybe I can help out a little with music news for December 25, 2024.

  1. Here’s the full list of artists who will get Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
  2. This is a study of radio use in the US. Contrary to what you may have been told, things are still pretty good.
  3. Might be a good Boxing Day purchase: Bose has some new “open earbuds” that are apparently very good.
  4. More science: Singing is good for your wellbeing.
  5. It’s not music-related, but this sounds like fun: Tokyo’s best video arcades.
  6. After years of growth, there are concerns about the future of K-pop.
  7. Another thing in trouble: TuneIn Radio. The company is moving away from podcasts and have laid off a ton of people.
  8. Strange things can happen during karaoke nights.
  9. Nothing like an hour-long Rammstein concert documentary for Christmas Day, right?
  10. TMI: Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee showers once a week.
  11. The idea of the “failed second album” is a myth. Blame music critics for this whole thing.
  12. Even exotic animals love Radiohead. See?
