  • Regarding the Swift plane tracking…Swift has a holding company own the plane, and isn’t in her name exactly, so technically Sweeney is posting up a track of a plane that is owned by a shell company, and not exactly Swift.

Most aircraft aren’t owned by those flying them, often they are owned by a shell company, or a bank owns them while a mortgage is being paid. Swift has a shell company buy the aircraft to protect herself from any failures with the plane, as most rich people do.

Musk tried to stop Sweeney but wasn’t able to for similar reasons.

ADS-B, the transponder system on the aircraft, sends out a location and identification every second that travels hundreds of nautical miles in all directions, and is picked up by other planes and ground stations. Anyone with the correct receiving equipment can see this info, and it is all available on the interwebs on sites such as PlaneFinder, FlightRadar24, etc. Anyone can see this info because it is completely public.

I understand why Tay-Tay is upset about this, but it’s public domain, and illegal for her pilots to shut the system off. Her reaction feels like a Barbara Streisand reaction when Bab’s found out that her house was on the internet. It is just making things worse.

This won’t last long in court.
