Well, here we are again at the beginning of a new year.But before we head into music news for January 1, 2025, here are some things from 2024 that made life better.

  1. It was 50 years ago today that Canada changed from the old imperial system of measurement to the metric system. Tell me again why some radio stations still insist on giving us the temperature in Fahrenheit? BTW, there are only three countries in the world that do not use the metric system: Liberia, Myanmar, and the United States.
  2. How to be happier in 2025? Maybe not wear headphones all the time.
  3. Fandom was huge in 2024. What does this portend for 2025?
  4. It looks like women saved the UK music industry last year.
  5. Will we get an Eminem/50 Cent album this year? Maybe.
  6. Can we all agree that music NFTs are over?
  7. A nine-hour Prince documentary? Yay! We may never see it? Boo! (Via Rick J)

  9. Radio in 2025: Still a thing. Trust me.
  10. Broadcasters we lost in 2024.
  11. Jimmy Carter had a relationship with the Allman Brothers? Yes.
