Long before we became acquainted with the sibling issues of Noel and Liam Gallagher of Oasis, there was Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks. Their relationship has always been…strained. They haven’t appeared on stage together in twenty years. Yet on Friday night at the Islington Assembly Hall in London, Dave introduced a surprise guest during his set. On walked Ray. The crowd stroked out. Hell got colder.

It’s not a Kinks reunion, but it’s a major step forward.
