Remember When the Olympics Gave Out Medals for Art?

Probably not, because the last time this happened was in 1952.  But back then, it was possible to win a medal for painting, sculpture, architecture, literature and, yes, music.

Between 1912 and 1952,  151 medals were handed out to artists whose works were inspired by athletic accomplishments.

For example, Polish composer Zbigniew Turski won a gold medal in London in 1948 for his Symphonia Olimpijska.
