Rifflandia returns to Victoria, BC, with an eclectic lineup

[A report from contributor Elisa F.G. – AC]

What do Iggy Pop, Salt-N-Pepa and Paris Hilton have in common?

Okay, so there’s no real answer to this but it reads as if it’s a cool trivia question, they’ll all be sharing the stage at Rifflandia Festival. Other than that I haven’t a clue. I’m sure if we all gathered to play one massive round of “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” or “Six Degrees of Separation” we could find and figure out connections but until then…they are all playing Rifflandia Festival which runs six days over two full weekends, September 7th-17th 2023 in Victoria, BC.

After a four year break, one of West Coast Canada’s longest running music and arts festivals Rifflandia Festival returns, expecting nearly 60,000 people, 80-some-odd artist performances and a spot to get married (Lovelandia) if you’re feeling it or whatever. No pressure.

Iggy Pop, Diplo, Paris Hilton, Chris Lake, Run The Jewels, Herbie Hancock, Salt-N-Pepa, Stephen Marley, Marc Rebillet, Mavis Staples, Chet Faker, KALEO, Chromeo, CKay, and so many more are giving summer a send-off fit for any festival fan.

“We are extremely excited to present our most high-profile and eclectic collection of artists to date! Two weekends will allow both of our flagship event sites to grow into the best versions of themselves, offering two distinct festival experiences under the Rifflandia Festival umbrella! September Forever and Ever!” – Nick Blasko – President & CEO.

There’s a whole variety of different ticket options being made available so you can decide if you want to only attend Fuzzy Thursday, Hot Friday, Neon Saturday or if theme days and costumes aren’t your thing, how does Splifflandia sound? In partnership with Health Canada and appropriately doob’d …I mean dubbed Splifflandia, an on-site cannabis delivery service, much like Uber Eats but for weed! Food Truck Landia’s going to have its work cut out for them!
