RIP Benjamin Curtis

Benjamin Curtis, one-third of the NYC dream-pop band School of Seven Bells, has died at the age of 35 after a long battle with cancer, specifically T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphona.

I first heard of Benjamin when he was involved in Tripping Daisy who were famous for this song.

Later, Ben and his bother Brandon founded Secret Machines, a criminally underrated heavy psych album who released three albums between 2000 and 2008.  This was my favourite song of theirs.

School of Seven Bells came next.  Here’s a sample of what they could do.
