RIP Mazzy Star co-founder David Roback

We lost another one. David Roback, the producer and multi-instrumentalist who co-founded Mazzy Star with singer Hope Sandoval, has died at the age of 61. No cause of death has been announced.

Mazzy Star had this massive alt-rock hit in the 90s.

Roback was also big in an LA-centered scene known as the Paisley Underground, a jangly sort of new-psych that emerged in the 1980s, as a member of Rain Parade and Opal.
