Cool!

Rivers Cuomo is selling thousands of old demos while learning how to code. Here’s his final class assignment.

If you’re a Weezer fan, you’ll want to take a spin through the 2,441 demos Rivers Cuomo has put up for sale. They come in nine download bundles costing US$9 each.

Rivers: . “For any demo: It might have silence. It might be wildly inappropriate. It might have super low sound quality. It might just be me rambling, talking, making sounds. It may have already been shared or leaked. It might be just a drum beat. it might not have vocals. It might be a duplicate of another demo.”

But before you think this is another attempt at creating a new revenue stream, there’s more to it. Rivers has been using his spare time to learn how to code. He’s been taking courses in computer science. This pitch on scheduling everything that goes along with being on tour got him a 95 in the class.
