Rock Am Ring, The Massive German Rock Festival, Evacuated After Terror Threat
Rock Am Ring, one of the biggest music festivals in all of Europe, was thrown into chaos today when organizers evacuated the grounds after an unspecified terror threat.
Some 85,000 people were expected to attend over the three days. More than 1,200 security personnel are on hand as a result of the Manchester bombing.
Organizers remember last August when an asylum seeker from Syria blew himself up outside an outdoor festival in the German town of Ansbach.
This being Germany, everyone left in an orderly fashion, some of them singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
Better safe than sorry, of course.
